MaxPreps.com is preparing for another football season in Kentucky. If you haven't taken a look at the site lately we invite you to do so soon. MaxPreps offers a number of FREE services for high school coaches and high school sports fans:
Schedules, rosters, stats, photos, videos, newspaper articles, job and game postings, web pages for each of your athletes and for your program, and more are all FREE to you, FREE to your program and FREE to your fans.
What do you have to do to take advantage of these FREE services?
In order to enter your team's information:
- Get the MaxPreps.com assigned Username and Password for your football program.
- Decide who will do your data entry. This can be anyone you designate and give the Username and Password. Your stats man, your third string or sophomore QB, an assistant coach, a parentƒ anyone can do this. The technology is easy and schedule/roster/stat entry can take as little as ten-fifteen minutes. (You need a computer and internet access. No special software is needed!) See HOW TO: Schedule Entry in Maxpreps below!
- It's that easy! But you can also enter action, team, and individual photos (great for recruiters and parents), video highlights, school and local newspaper articles. Plus, you can have MaxPreps send your stats to whomever you designate (your college roommate in Tasmania?) automatically... and FREE.
How can it be FREE and what exactly does that mean?
MaxPreps.com does not approach your local or statewide sponsors. MaxPreps has been very successful in convincing major national and global advertisers (T-Mobile, The Army National Guard, Adidas, Nike, etc.) to invest in the site. MaxPreps.com gets a lot of traffic! Parents, grandparents, student/athletes, coaches, college coaches, sports-writers and sports-casters all look at MaxPreps.com. Well over a million student/athletes already have their own MaxPreps.com web site!
Get Your Username and Password. Be prepared for a great season on the field and on-line!

HOW TO #2: Schedule Entry in MaxPreps
- Log-on to Maxpreps.com as a "coach" in the upper right corner of the Maxpreps.com home page. You'll need your MaxPreps assigned username and password.
- In the next screen "MaxPreps Coach Administration" find "Main Menu" in the upper left side of the page. Click on "Schedule." In the next page click on "Schedule a Game."
- In the next page select "Conference" or "Non-Conference" (When you make the playoffs at the end of the season, you will come back to the "Schedule" page to enter your playoff games.)
- If you've chosen to enter a "Conference" game, within a second or two you will have a drop down list of your conference members to chose from under #2, "Opponent." Select one.
- If you have selected "Non-Conference," a new window will open giving you an opportunity to select your opponent from MaxPreps' database.
*NOTE School Names: MaxPreps nearly always lists the name of the school followed by the community in parenthesis, i.e. Adair County (Columbia, KY) and MaxPreps does not include a first name for schools that commonly use both the first and last name of the person they are named for (i.e. John Hardin will be listed as Hardin (Elizabethtown, KY). So, to find John Hardin in Elizabethtown, type in Hardin, select KY and then pick "Hardin (Elizabethtown, KY) ."
- You'll chose a location, a date and a time in this window as well.
- When you've completed scheduling the game, click "Save Game" or "Save Game & Add Another Game."
Entering your schedule yourself is easy but YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS! Delegate it. It's an easy process, that doesn't take much time. Find someone you can rely on, give them your MaxPreps assigned school football username and password (email me to get it) and then check to make sure it gets done.
